For several years the employees of the Lewis Group of Companies have raised funds during the holiday season to supply wishlist items to families in need through the Salvation Army. Edna Montag, Office Manager, states “Our employees have been so generous and come through every year for these families”. This year, Lewis employees raised enough funds to double the number of families we helped. That means more families, consisting of 5-6 members per family, were given clothes, toys, food, grocery store gift cards, and other wishlist items during a time when they needed it most.

So, what do our employees do to help? The Lewis employees personally give gifts, gift cards, and money towards this cause. Oftentimes, a specific department within Lewis will collectively put on an event to raise funds. For example, every year the Lewis Group of Companies’ accounting department coordinates an all-day potluck where employees bring in homemade dishes. Anyone who partakes in the feast drops in a donation of any amount. This year the accounting department made the most they ever had in donations.

Shortly after the families accepted their donations, we received handwritten thank you cards. Check out one of the particularly touching thank you notes that we received below.

Thank you to everyone who donated to this cause. Let’s strive to top ourselves again next year!

Translation: “Thank you very much for your help. Only God knows what we go through and He sends his good children to bring help. Thank you and may God bless you.”
